Electricity Safety Training

November 16 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm CST

We will be offering 3 hours of Non-Code Continuing Education Hours for Electric, Mechanical, and Plumbing contractors. Cost: FREE!

Evergy will provide a demonstration about the hazards associated with high voltage overhead and underground power lines. In the demonstration, Westar will discuss the effects of electricity on the human body through touch potential, voltage gradients and step potentials. Join us and learn how to be observant for power lines (whether in the air or on the ground) and steps you can take to protect yourself and others from these dangers.

This program is for anyone who works or operates machinery around overhead or underground power lines. With the aid of a “demonstration trailer” energized (hot) at 7,200 volts, Evergy’s Public Safety Team will demonstrate real-life situations to help you incorporate the observance for possible electrical hazards during everyday activities at work and at home.

THREE sessions available:

  • Tuesday, November 16, 2021 – 1:00 pm
